Position Title: Research Intern – Country Priorities and Institutional LandscapeDuration: 2 Months

Overview
Digital Earth Africa (DE Africa) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support a short-term research activity. The intern will conduct a desk-based review of selected opportunity countries to inform strategic engagement and alignment with DE Africa’s products and services.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct country-level research on national development priorities, thematic focus areas, and relevant transformation agendas for 2024–2025.
- Identify and review relevant assessments of national GEO maturities.
- Identify institutions, governance structures, and ministerial priorities aligned with DE Africa’s thematic areas such as agriculture, water, land use, urban development, and climate resilience.
- Map potential entry points and strategic opportunities for DE Africa engagement based on national priorities and institutional mandates.
- Where applicable, support engagement with governance structures to validate findings and identify needs.
- Summarize insights into a structured report or database to inform planning and outreach.
Requirements
– Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.
– Background in public policy, development studies, environmental science, international relations, or a related field.
– Understanding of development priorities in Africa and regional governance structures is a plus.
– Excellent written communication and organizational skills.– Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
